  • An Intresting Album

Finally! I surprised it took this long for this album to hit iTunes. This orginally came out in 2011 under the Rhino Homemade label. At the time it was quite expensive (Like $45+), and it came with a poster and a nice book. I was lucky and found a used one complete for $25 or so dollars last year on eBay. 2015 is here so Rhino is Re-Releasing the album. So is it any good? Yes and no. As an album, it's intresting that we now have somthing from 1975, (Carnegie hall came out in '71 & Live In Japan was recorded in '72) With this said, we have some songs from Chicago VI, VII, & VIII thrown into the mix. "Just You 'n Me", "Ain't it Blue", "Old Days", & "Wishing You Where Here" are on this album, along with classics like "25 or 6 to 4", "I'm A Man", "Dialogue", & many others. It's also really interesting to see a cover of The Beatles "Got To Get You Into My Life" on this album, so the setlist is really nice, with no real throwaway tracks. Of course Terry Kath is an aficionado at the guitar and it really shows. Now, the bad part, the sound quality isn't really as good as Live In Japan or 2005 Remaster of Carnegie Hall. Chicago sounds really tired, and you have to remember they where in the middle of a dual tour with the Beach Boys, and they really never had the chance to take a break. (Speaking of which, I wonder if someone has the tapes to the Beach Boys side of the concert). Pete sounds really tired, and sometimes the guitar and drums kind of blend into the mix, and don't really sound as sharp as they should. It don't know if it was the venue itself or the setup or the rig they used to record the band, but it comes off as a boarderline bootleg at times, and that's really a shame. Overall, die hard Chicago fans might have to look into this. From the previews, I don't here a difference from my CD copy.
