Music has never been the same since the loss of such an amazing artist. Maybe someday they can add "tell me" to an album.
  • Kath was the greatest

Terry Kath was the soul behind this great band. He and Peter Cetera were great together and the entire band was fantastic. Terry was the blues component who really interpreted the feeling and captured the essence of the times. Anyone who lived in the 70s can appreciate him and truly mourn his passing. The bands music interpreted political events which opened up our minds to what was happening in Chicago during the Presidential convention. 'Their music was witness to what the nation felt and troubles they witnessed. It is still the standard for which I judge current political events. I truly miss Terry Kath and Chicago as it was in the early days.

Bought it because it was a tribute album for Kath and i hope some of the money for this download goes to his family because he was the rock of the Chicago of the 70's. I just did not know how much Kath was part of the band until his passing. I wasn't the biggest fan of his voice but now realize he kept them grounded and was truly, truly the spinal cord of the band. The fans of Chicago will always miss him and what could have been.

Wow, fun. Have always wanted the album and so glad to have it. Terry was amazing. A real loss. One of the hardest things I ever did was tell my brother he was dead. ( a bigger fan than me). I wish there were a few more songs like Liberation, Uptown, Little one, Wishing you were here. Maybe there could be another album.
  • RE: Jimi Hendrix says...

The story that I recall while watching a documentary about the band Chicago was that when they first played the west coast, they were performing at a club in Los Angeles or Hollywood. Jimi Hendrix was at the show and came backstage and spoke to one of the band members, who I believe was Robert Lamm. He said something like "your guitarist is really great; he can play stuff that I cannot even play."

The only thing that made me mad was they left out "Jenny", a wonderful tune that showcased Terry's amazing rhythm guitar with a rotary speaker or leslie tone. What a tremendous guitar player and singer he was!
  • one of the greatest guitarists ever and yet so underrated.

This whole collection is great except for one thing that made me mad: they left out "Poem 58". That song clearly shows how great he is, along with the rest on this album. But really, this collecton be a lot better with "Poem 58". He was also, to me, the most underrated guitarist in all of rock history. None of his solos are included in lists of greatest guitar solos and he's not even listed in any great guitarists of all time lists. But the point I'm trying to make is, this is one hell of a collection of guitar legend.

I was high school when Chicago was big. I played trumpet but was caught by the infectious playing Terry Kath...which drove me to develope a life long habit of playing guitar. I remember being crying like a baby when Kath died. Very few guitarists will ever reach his heights. I consider him one of the ten greats
  • One of the best songs from Chicago!!

I was a teenager in the 70s so this is right up my alley!!! I love this song from a group that has been great for over 40 years!!! Why can't they make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame????

True story - when Chicago was emerging in the late 60's, Jimi Hendrix introduced himself to Terry Kath and told him, "You're better than me, man." That's all you need to know.
