This double album is deeply imbedded in my music DNA having grown up with my two older sisters playing it constantly. Though I love it, I always had a problem with the overall sound of it. It always sounded kind of dull, like Led Zep's 2nd LP, as if the recording tape was saturated or something. Steven Wilson's remix has really made these recordings shimmer and shine.

Incredible. A case where modern tech improved on classic tech. Every sound seams more defined. I guess how the would have mixed if the album came out today. It's as if an old movie that was out of contrast was brought back to life. My favorite tracks are; It Better End Soon. Get this cleaned up mix improved by Steven Wilson. As if the original was muddled. Not that the original was flawed by any means. Chicaog is the best.

For my 59 year old ears, this 2nd LP by Chicago is musically their best work. Soundwise, probably their worst. Before this remix I could not listen to this lp/cd in my listening room. The only place I can tolerate such poor audio quality is in my car. This Steve Wilson remix changes all of that! There are still some tracks that sound terrible on this re-mix, 25 Or 6 To 4, is the most glaring example. Most of side one is greatly improved. Movin In, the LP's opener sounds far superior here than on the original mix, as are the following 2 tracks. In The Country is also improved on but still has some issues. Wake Up Sunshine sounds wonderful now. The Ballet is somewhat improved with Colour My World enjoying the biggest improvement. I still wish The entire Ballet could sound, and feel, as great as Movin' In and Wake Up Sunshine. They sound best.

BIG difference over the original 16 track recording. Im hearing things and seperations that Ive never heard before. WIth a good set of headphones, you can tell. I love it. I hope the first 4 albums thru Carnegie Hall get the Steve Wilson treatment. Nice job. 2 huge thumbs up!!!!!
