This sound as if, it was a quick fix with her old songs and remixed. This is not the J. Scott I listen to who it smooth.

I'm definitely a huge fan of Jill Scott, and being that I'm a musician, I haven't always been a huge fan of house music, but I must say, the combination of the two isn't so bad. You definitely have to have an open mind!

I love this album!!! I know, I know Jill is not a house artist, which is why these songs really shine. It has a case load of awesome producers, which adds to the creativity to each mix. I'm a die hard Jill fan, so I wasn't too sure about this remix concept. But I LOVE the album. DOPE!!!

I've always loved these songs and have observed over the years how DJs, producers and remixers have taken Jill's music to completely different places. CRATES VOLUME 1 isn't for everyone - but it will put some pep in your step and some glide in your stride. Consider it an antidote to the blahs - for the most part it's very bright and sunny - yeah - that Spring Summer Feeling!

#7 (Teddy Vee Mix) is the hottest track on the album.
  • Pretty Uneventful

I like Jill Scott and I like House Music but I've discovered that I don't like them together. Maybe it's because I'm so familiar with the original songs that I cannot gravitate to these less than imaginative remixes. She adds a different twist in live performances, which are amazing. The Jazzy Jeff remix, which had been previously released, is the only song that captures the essence of Jill. Disappointed but still a fan
  • 2 stars/2 hot tracks...Most of these remixes aren't hot.

The remixes here are not very interesting and that's coming from a guy who digs a hot remix! Seriously, if there has to be a remix, it should either be high-voltage danceable or a fresh take of an original track that stands up against said original. Neither happens with this here album. I do like the remixes to "Come See Me" and "Slowly Surely" but I already own the other decent remix ("A Long Walk - Jazzy Jeff Redux".) The rest of the album is uneventful because the remixes don't elevate the music or utilize the vocal properly.

Well, her voice is always phenomenal but I prefer her not remixed. Still, this is pretty awesome.
