I usually shy away from "modern" Christmas music. The traditional sounds of Christmas make the right mood for me. This album is an exception. I've only had it a few weeks and I'm already hooked! "Welcome Inn" is both traditional and up-to-date ~ there isn't a song I don't like. There are traditional carols with Keaggy's signature on them. Others are enhanced by the harmonies and instrumentals of his own children. "For the Twelfth Night", "Father", and "Let Us Go to Bethlehem" are thoughtful poetry and good meditation. (By the way, as I was listening to "Father" the first time, it caught my attention because there are no guitar sounds in it!) Some of the best: "Welcome In", "And On That Day", and "Let Us Go to Bethlehem". If I have my way, all three will become classic Christmas carols being passed down through the generations. My personal favorite is "For the King" based on Psalm 45. A glorious psalm and a beautiful song!
