I have been a fan of Mr. Johnson since the days of "Through the Door" and "The Awakening", and of Mr. Keaggy just about as long. This compilation is destined to be a classic. Two artists at the top of their respective classes combine to write a collection of soothing and relaxing music that should be included in everyone's library, no matter if you are a believer or not. Two thumbs, WAY up!!! Nice work gentlemen.....hope there is another joint venture in the future. I'll buy it.
  • Elevator music from Keaggy? :-(

This music is like so much bland New Age/elevator music, there is nothing remarkable about it. I have been a Keaggy fan for 30+ years and this is the only album of his I've ever disliked. I suppose it might work in a spa or doctor's office where no one is paying close attention to the music, but for me, it was disappointing.

Since 1983 I have been listening to Jeff Johnson and Phil Keaggy and have never been disappointed with any thing that they recorded. This album included. From the very layered structure of the compositions, one can see that these two Artists work with music like the great masters worked with their oils. Since I purchased this two days ago, it has been the one album played on my computer and my iPod. Quiet, relaxing and exciting as one listens to the virtuosity of both musicians.
  • A full force provocative "Beyond Nature"

INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! Simply awesome. It has the beauty and complexity of beyond nature but with all musical capabilities in existence. This album is all about beauty. The musicians skill comes through but they lay aside chops for beauty and emotion. Keaggy can do it all as he once again proves taking his time to take you on a musical journey. Buy this record!

I never cease to be inspired by Jeff's music. Frio Suite is no exception. Frequently I have used his music as starting points to spur my own creative bursts to good effect. I've already incorporated this new work into my favorites list. Superb artistry and musicianship.
  • A Moving Masterpiece

Take an outstanding keyboard artist and composer of contemporary music, team him up with one who is widely regarded to be one of the finest guitarists in the world, add the visual art of a world-class photographer, inspire them with some of the most sublime scenery in all creation, and you have Frio Suite. Jeff Johnson and Phil Keaggy, along with Kathy Hastings, have produced a moving masterpiece. This instrumental album takes you to the banks of the Frio River, where still waters and striking cliffs give rest to the soul. If you can't make it to Laity Lodge, on the banks of the Frio, Frio Suite is the next best thing. I especially like this album an inspiration for prayer and meditation. Highly recommended!
