  • One of the best...

Phil Keaggy is one of the best, yet not well known guitar players in the world. People have put him in with the likes of the greats, such as Slash, Les Paul, and Hendrix.

Phil Keaggy has been a favorite of mine since I heard "Sundays Child" back in the 80's. He always has something that just hits the spot and this album is no different. Awesome textures to each song and a pleasure to just jam to.

THANK YOU PHIL!! for doing what you do best! When I heard this album the zee blues, sherlock ohms, route canal its a reminder of Phil's Ability to just shred on his guitar and let God speak through it! Any chance of a release of Phil'p Side or Town to Town or Underground Vol 1, Play Thru Me ? any time soon!

I just saw Phil Keaggy in concert and I was blown away! I had never heard of him before, so I have a lot of catching up to do! It was refreshing to see someone with real talent. He did use a couple of gimmicks during his concert, but for the most part it was sheer finger magic! This album is perfect for the person who is not into Christian music. If you love Peter Frampton (Fingerprints) or Tommy Emmanuel this album is for you! I love contemporary Christian music so I'm anxious to get his other albums. The Christian songs he performed were exquisite!

I have not purchesed this album YET, but I felt compelled to write. Ihave seen Phil in concert four times, including the first "Glass Harp" reunion. Not including listening to him play live and in person in a friends living room!!!!! in every concert it was easy to pick out the musicians (especially the guitarists). Thier demeanors went from wide eyed, and slack jawed amazement, to complete jubulation, because of Phil's speed, tightness, humor (yes HUMOR on an instrument), creativity, and execution. Every time I've seen him I couldn't touch my guitar for two, to three weeks, due to feelings of complete inadequacy. His finger picking is inhuman. He is missing a significant potion of the ring finger on his right hand. Now to correct something. Hendrix was on the "Dick Cavett Show" and he asked Hendix; "How does it feel to be the worlds greatest guitarist?" To which Hendrix responded; "I don't know, you'd have to ask Phil Keaggy." I have seen the tape!!!! I've heard that 'Slow Hands' (Eric Clapton) called Phil the greatest guitarist in the northern hemishere. I have not been able to confirm that. One thing I can promise you; is that any work of Keaggy's will keep you entertained, enthralled, inspired, perplexed, and most importantly closer to the Lord !!!!!!!! After the Lord created the guitar, he put Phil on the planet to show us what he meant. God bless, and stay safe

Great Album, I love instrumental rock. I have always though Phil has never got his due as a great guitarist, right up there with Joe Satriani and his like. Its great to hear a Christian that really knows how to show his talent off in such a way that is humble and beautiful without any of the new age stuff of Satriani or any references to sex and drugs that other people resort to in great rock.

As with me, Phil gets better with age. Well at least Phil does. I remember hearing Glass Harp back in the 70s and I was hooked right then and now. Phil Keaggy, Larry Norman and....Randy Stonehill were my musical source of toe-taps then. Now I find that not that much has changed except my toes are older and I have a better sound system, or many systems if you count iPods, iRiver, home theater and four or five other ways to listen to tunz. Oh yeah, getting a Stonehill/Keaggy download, priceless.

It was Eddie Van Halen who said that, not Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix died long before Phil got his reputation. Nice thought and story though....
