Apocalypse (Theme from "Battlestar Galactica: The Plan") [Live]

This took me back to the days BSG was on air. Strong performance like the series. This music is defenitly a caracter by it self of BSG. Highly recomended. Hope the full concert would be available here.

Being a fan of the Battlestar soundtracks and Bear, this was a great surprise to find. This video rocks!!!!....Please put out the rest of the show!!!!

This music is absolutely amazing and creative. Bear McCreary is a genius, and has collected an exceptionally talented pool of musicians playing interesting and diverse instruments that created the perfect music for Battlestar Galactica. The melodies, vocals and instrumentation gave a real sense of a deep underlying culture, and this song exemplifies that very well with haunting strains and passionate vocals. The video let me see the performers immerse themselves in it for the first time. Again, this video depicts the intensity and vitality found throughout Bear McCreary's work, especially throughout the Battlestar Galactica soundtracks.

Great concert footage, top notch composer, orchestra, vocalists, soloists-- AWESOME!!! If you are a music lover or audiophile, Bear McCreary's soundtrack to BSG is not to be missed--even if you have never seen the series. This driving, polyrythmic reworking of the haunting main theme of the BSG series (the Gayatri Mantra sung in Sanskrit) for "Battlestar Galactica: The Plan" is AMAZING !!!!! I say Bear McCreary should be nominated for a Grammy! And every other major award!!

I was at the concert this night, and it was the most amazing concert experience of my life! This song was definitely one of the highlights of the evening, so full of energy! Don't think twice, just get it, you won't regret it. :)

Bear McCreary is one of the finest soundtrack composers in history - seriously. His music made Battlestar Galactica, already a great show, a completely new and amazing experience. Using instruments rarely if ever heard on television, such as the duduk, bagpipes, frame drum, taiko drums, and gamelan, Bear weaved a tapestry of sound using instruments of Earth and made it sound otherworldly - perfect for a series revolving around the lives of a civilization from another star system. "The Plan" was, at best, a mediocre telefilm, but Bear's score was frakking incredible, as always. And "Apocalypse" is perhaps his best work in the entire series. I have listened to this track again and again on my iPod, and now that it's out on video, I'll be watching it a lot too. Glad to hear that the video has finally been published in full stereo instead of the mono mix which was previously posted (Bear's blog explains the problems he was having with Apple in getting the right version posted). Finally, the fact that there have actually been concerts, with paying audiences, of professional musicians playing television show soundtrack music, something that's never been done before, is a testament to the power of Bear's music and his skill as a composer. Buy the video, buy the song, buy all of his BSG soundtrack albums - you'll never regret it.

I was at that concert -- Frakkin' awesome video! (I'm in the very bottom left corner when the audience is shown at the end -- wearing a Serenity T-shirt!) The music of BSG is just so good, and the live performances are amazing. When the full concert video is released, BUY IT.

This is one of the top 5 compositions by Bear McCreary and the BSG Orchestra executes it perfectly. 1.49 is a steal for something this epic.
