I am lost for words… Eric has done it again! I found FOF probably 4 years ago… Saw them in Concert 3 Years ago in Reno with Lowercase Noises, and the journey of listening has never ended. Pages is no exception. The transition of going from a rock band to a very settle and calming band has been fun. In this album i can feel the heart beat of whats going on, i feel like the songs resonate through my mind all day long. The interments in the music are so vibrant i love it =] Lets see where Eric takes us next! With much love. -No Light Thing
  • Nothing Not to Love Here

Fireflies is probably the album's standout track, but the whole album is superb. There's a great landscape of emotional depth to explore here; every listen is bringing new musical vistas and lyrical insights. This is a more nuanced album than some of their previous work. It's very listenable, but definitely rewards the attentive and intentional listener. I'm a huge FoF fan and there's nothing not to love here. Carry on, please.
  • Fireflies is a 10, the rest of the album a 2.

Not going to give this album less than 5 stars because Fireflies carries this entire album! The rest of it is weepy rehashes and unnecessary covers.

Beautiful, musically fulfilling, inspirational, and healing. When I listened to someone I heard sounds I had never heard before. Thank you.

Released without warning, this album is really beautiful. A different sound than their other albums,(though I would expect nothing less) the songs are very folksy and quieter than some of their rock anthems such as protection. But, they are still wonderful. One of the best parts of this album is the acoustic version of "Someone". It's lovely. Thanks FoF for releasing more amazing music!
  • Where Did This Come From?!

Confession: I've followed Future of Forestry for a long time (since their Something Like Silas days!) But don't let that prevent you from checking out this album. FOF announced the availability of this album out of nowhere. Having just purchased 2 other albums, I hesitated. Should I go for it, or not? Well, I went for it, and I'm very glad I did! While Pages is a very simplistic and melodic album (different from say, some tracks from the Travel series), it's quite beautiful. And very much worth having in your music repertoire. Why 4 stars? Because I'm a realist. Owning over 500 albums I probably have 10 or less that stand the test of time as 5 star albums. But this is quite good, and you owe it to yourself to own it. Check it out ASAP. You'll be glad you did.

Eric Owyoung and Alina Kamilcho sing, "I'll find a way to cross the oceans set between us" on their delightful track Cross the Oceans. Well, we may not be crossing oceans, Eric, but we're certainly impressed by this new album. And by impressed I mean: Holy hell this is wonderful! I. Am. Ecstatic! I've listened to this album several times now and I am in love. First off, for those who are FoF fans--as I assume you are, since there's only an elite circle of intelligent individuals spinning this--this album is different. Not in a bad way at all. It's an album that's a cross between Young Man Follow and The Piano and Strings Sessions; as if they made some acoustic, folksy babies. The beauty of the album is that Eric Owyoung, correctly, drew in Alina Kamilcho to sing along his vocals. This has made the album an absolute gorgeous combination of breezy male vocals and delicious femininity. Let me say this again: this album is arguably one of the best folk albums (duet-ing throughout) I've ever had the pleasure to listen to (and I listen to a lot). As I listened to the album, I initially thought to myself: Okay, where are the fillers? And I really had a hard time finding them. So, I'll mention a few of the songs that knocked my socks off. My absolute favorite song, which just created this summer-melancholy in me, is Fireflies. I listened to it dozens of times. You should too. I enjoyed the acoustic By the Water, which is somewhat of an upbeat, straight-up-folk song. Next I come to the very, very amazing Cross the Oceans (which I already sung for you!). There's the haunting acoustic love song Hold My Hand, which is absolutely delicious. Another stand-out track (but all are, right?) is How To Fly, which is a cute song about learning to fly in order to "fly" after your love in Portland. (I live in the Pacific Northwest, so maybe this song was written for us). Allow me to mention Time After Time, for it is a thoroughly wonderful cover of the original song. I listened to that many times. Overall, this album is a little diamond worth keeping. I purchased the 14-track full length album on the band's website. I figured, why not? You get two additional tracks, an instant download, and a cool hard copy. Okay, 2015, here I come. I found my soundtrack for this year. And I've got "Pages." What's your soundtrack?
