Reviews

  • STH's best album so far

I love this music. I've loved all of STH's albums, but this one takes things to a new level: it's like watching someone develop better and better craftsmanship. It's like movie music… really emotional and moving. Def a full-album purchase, not a track-by-track purchase.

Another solid addition to the discography. I became a big fan of the post-rock/ambient genre in medical school due to the need to study to music without lyrics and in that time I grew to appreciate how beautiful the genre can be. With sound cloud, band camp etc there are definitely a glut of bands in this genre, however, STH, along with the likes of Hammock, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, etc. continue to be a cut among the rest. My favorite tracks are: Your ghosts, Face in the Wave, We’re going to be okay

I have been listening to STH for a while now and this is amazing. Every album is more diverse and reaches into new musical landscapes. Ben Leopard (Startle the Heavens) should be a house hold name in ambient and post rock genres. The album sweeps over you with amazing guitar tracks, heart pounding drums, haunting vocals and ambient textures, leaving you hungry for the next song. The layers of the music blend together seamlessly showing STH’s amazing talent for melody and masterfully holding on to the feeling of the song. If you are a fan of Eluvium, Explosions in the Sky or Julianna Barwick you’ll love this album.
