Get Your Heart On - The Second Coming! - EP

Simple Plan never really released many EP’s, but this was a great holdover for their new 2016 album. Comprised of leftover sessions/b-sides from “Get Your Heart On!”, this is very much a continuation. Lyrically, it’s more of the same: love, fitting in, regrets, partying, etc… Vocally, Pierre still sounds amazing after all these years. Very underrated as a vocalist. Instrumentally, these songs are all catchy with some good hooks. This, much like their 2011 album, focus more on the pop side of the genre. This also feels like they still had a few songs leftover from co-writers, and I always felt their best material was without any co-writers. Because “Get Your Heart On!” did not feel like the classic SP I came to love, but, like this EP, was still enjoyable. My favorite tracks include: “Ordinary Life”, “The Rest of Us”, and “Try”. But all the sons are good in their own way. Buy this EP and support these dudes. They deserve it!!!!

The only song I like on this album is "Lucky One"... I really only like it because I relate to it and it's not to pop sounding.

Even years after No Helmet No Pads, Simple Plan is still killing it. One of the best pop punk bands out there. Their sound has evolved and continues to be great.
