Simple Plan is awesome, I love their stuff. Every track is good on here even the bonus track "Grow Up"which is a fast paced punk rocker. My favorite songs are "The Worst Day Ever", "I Won't Be There", "One Day", "Addicted", "I'm Just A Kid", and "Meet You There".
  • These aren't kids... they're adults

Songs made by adults for kids? Makes sense. If you like this music, well... you're a child. One of the worst things to happen to music.

I was 12 when this album came out, and it almost feels like yesterday when I saw songs like “Perfect” and “Addicted” on MTV, or when The New Guy hit theres and showcased “I’m Just a Kid”. And then I remember those days and it really does feel like 14 years ago, and WOW has the time passed. This was definitely one of the soundtracks to my youth growing up in middle school/high school. Along with blink-182 and Sum 4. But to get into it, this album is perfectly reminiscent of early 2000’s era pop-punk. This favors the pop side more, but it’s still arguably more rock than anything else. Lyrically, themes focus on girls, love, depression, being an outcast, angry, etc… All relatable topics, and typical for a debut pop-punk album. Vocally, Pierre is fantastic. He has the perfect voice for this type of music. Pop-punk singers back then just all had fantastic voices, versus the grit/raw sound most vocalists have today in the new-wave of pop-punk. Instrumentally, the band has amazing hooks and riffs, writing some catchy tunes. You can’t help but want to sing along, get up and dance, or tap your feet to the music. It’s sad they aren’t nearly as popular now in the US that they were back then. There is no filler on here, but my favorite tracks include: “I’m Just a Kid”, “I’d Do Anything”, “Perfect”, and “Addicted”. But there are all fantastic. Buy this album. Support this band. Long Live SP!!!!!! Keep up the good work boys.
