"Requiem for Adam" is an unusually literal piece of work by Terry Riley performed by Kronos; extremely narrative. You can feel the harsh temperature of the mountain and the ambulence... It embraces a variety of different ways of describing this journey.
It's composed and performed with such emergence. You can really feel the pain and the release from this piece...
Personally out of Riley's string works I think I love "Cadenza on the Night Plain" works more but there are so many fragments in this work have reduced me to tears.
Not the place to start...

Too harshly electronic and intentionally jarring for me, and the only Terry Riley work I don't really care for. The hypnotic flow of his best work seems to be completely absent.
