This is an interesting compliation, keeping in mind, I have everything the Brubeck Quartet released on CD & downloads. Strange Meadowlark, Three To Get Ready and Cathy's Waltz are my absolute favorites on this grouping; I think they're better than the original album versions. To be blunt, Blue Ronda a La Turk has it's ups and downs. It starts out much as the original lead off tune from Time Out, but then goes out on tangent, much rather good, but some rather all over and indecisive trying to find their oats, I would say... Still worth the price of admission. Nothing will ever beat the Carnegie Hall rendition of this tune from the early 60's.... I met Dave & his wife on my first trip to Connecticut back in 1990, dropping off my daughter to attend a certain college we all luv and appreciate... Funny how time goes by... He is my favorite Jazz Artist, period! Listen and buy... you won't be sorry.
