This is the first M83 album I discovered. Their new stuff is nice, but there's something magical about this album. I listened to it once when I was suffering from anxiety and it must have been the 200th time I had listened to the album. Not only did it relieve my anxiety, but it sent me on a drug-like trance. It was one of the greatest experiences I've felt this far.

I've recently come across this album and the distinct array of tones and pitches of the album definitely evoke an emotion I've never felt listening to any other album. Behind the music lies a message, which is what I believe is the most beautiful part. Definitely buy this album, you won't be disappointed.

Though I love Hurry Up, We're Dreaming (a lot actually), this is the best album by M83. Many do not even know about this album and assume the aforementioned album is the first thing by M83. But do you know how lucky you are for knowing about/finding this album?! Just. Get. The. Whole. Thing. Will blow your mind.
  • This is the greatest album I've ever heard.

I bought this album in 2004 while living in Venice. No other album has come close to having the same emotional impact on me; I'll only listen to it once every couple years because of its effect on me. I wish M83 would revisit this territory. Every album since has been a shadow of dead cities, red seas, and lost ghosts. A stunning masterwork.

This album, moreso, I think, than Before the Dawn Heals Us, makes you feel things. Beauties Can Die starts off with an almost cliche jingle, but very quickly becomes one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard. (It makes me wonder if the near overused keyboard at the beginning was intentionally in place to mislead one). Gone, Cyborg, Noise, America, Unrecorded, Run Into Flowers, On a white Lake, are all amazing. I actually love Birds for the idea that it represents. A computer wishing it could roam the green fields, listening to nature. Love it. Love this album, so glad I can finally buy it vs. torrent.

I bought this album from ebay after falling in love with Hurry Up, We're Dreaming because it wasn't on the internet. I'm so happy their back catalog is finally on iTunes. Beauties Can Die, the closing track, honestly changed my life. I would recommend this album to anyone, but if you can only afford one song, I promise that Beauties Can Die will not upset.

This a must have album for any M83 fan. Whether or not you are better off purchasing it elsewhere, I'll have to wait and see, but this album is great and I'm glad they are bringing it to iTunes so more casual fans will be able to discover it. The 2 must-haves of the album are Gone, and America. Every song, save maybe Birds, is good so you're best off buying the whole album
