This is no 'Has Been,' but instead something you'd find in a CD bargain bin in the 90's. Not sure what Sherwood was thinking. My ears are bleeding. What a mess.

Shatner has done it again! This guy just keeps going! Great prog album I ponder the mystery of why some reviewers don't like it

Wow! Who knew Mr. Shatner had such adventurous tastes in music! Simply phenomenal musicians on here from the late George Duke, to guitar GOD Steve Vai, and Doors legend Robby Krieger, and of course the omnipresent Billy Sherwood working his magic both behind and in front of the soundboard. These guys lay down a truly luscious sonic landscape for Shatner's beautiful, and very personal, poetry. This is really a solid effort from all involved, and could be one of the finest things Mr. Shatner has accomplished in decades!
  • Was hoping for something like "Has Been"

Shatner is great but Billy Sherwood is no Ben Folds. Sadly after listening to it once, I'll never listen to it again. I'm going to list to "Has Been" now so that I can remember what its like when you mix two great artists together.

I was initially skeptical, but after listening to Alive, I was transfixed. Shatner's is that rare 60's star whose music evolves and remains relevant. Shatner's work is as timeless as anything by Gershwin, Cole Porter, Dylan, or Lennon-McCartneyMy choice for best album of the year. Appreciate this national treasure while we still have him.

Tell me this is a joke. It can't be true. The greatest album of my lifetime, right here for purchase. I can't wait to wooo my girl with this on a romantic evening.

There are a couple of good tracks here, especially the Vince Gill song. But what were they thinking?

I liked Has Been so much, I purchased this album before I listened to a single sample... Big mistake. I assume Bill has parted ways with Ben Folds as the production/compositions on this album don't even come close to the quality of Has Been. Either he thought he could do as good a job as Ben on his own or Bill and Ben played a bad joke on us. Really, I should've known better when I saw the cover art. I know he's capable of so much better than this... So disappointed.
