Lullabies for Sleepy Eyes

We received this album as a gift when our oldest daughter was born-7 years ago. We are still using it with our third daughter now. We love the songs. The first song on the album is my favorite, and brings tears to my eyes. We love Dance to your Daddy, and sing that song to our girls every night now as part of their bedtime routine.

I received "Lullabies for Sleepy Eyes" as a gift before my son was born, and it soon became a staple in our colic-soothing repertoire. Now that he's fifteen months and far from his colicky days, "Lullabies..." is still a staple, a testament to how well it works. We use it in the car when he's fussy and often play it in the evenings as he winds down before bedtime. Some of my favorite tracks include "Suo Gan," "Dance to Your Daddy" (my husband's favorite), and "Waltzing Matilda," though every track beautifully performed and produced. Tallman's voice is amazing and if you don't watch out, you might fall asleep along with your little one. This is a wonderful companion to Tallman's faster CDs such as "Let's Go" (my personal favorite) and "Children's Songs." I recommend them all!

We have been listening to Susie cd's the past three years with our 5 year old Lila and loving them! The children songs and Let's Go cd's have been great "friends" to Lila and I on many occassions. When we had our second child we bought the lullaby cd's and have been putting our baby to sleep with them eversince! Susie has such a wide range. In her more "upbeat" cd's she is bubbily and full of fun expression and in the lullaby cd's, Susie's calming and tranquil voice even puts me at ease!

Susie Tallman's lovely voice singing these lullabies provides the perfect calm for new babies and their harried, sleep-deprived parents. My newborn AND my 4 year old listen to it everynight! It's a must-have.

Our two-year old has been listening to this album since birth and does not go to sleep to anything else. We mistakenly thought he liked to go to sleep to music in general and foolishly purchased three more lullaby albums, but we quickly found out that Thomas only likes to sleep to THIS album. I like the fact that the music is intelligent and not overly-simplified, as much of children's music can be. It's lovely and soothing and I recommend it to anyone who can hear relatively well.

If you only buy one album for your baby, but this one. The melodies are soothing, the words are timeless and the quality of the singing is outstanding. Our son Jasper cannot get enough of this album.
