True, both artists have nice voices. However, Hawaiian Language pronunciation needs a lot of work. I agree with the comment that this is the type of music that tourists would enjoy. Definitely not this Kanaka. Its offensive. Sorry.

I really like Tias's sound and the album in general. However I don't think this is the album to buy if you are looking for true "classical" Hawaii songs. Her 'olelo Hawaii needs refinement and seems a little strained. Name recognition is what makes this album so apealing. So if you like the the "touristy" type melodies, this is the album for you. If you are looking for Classical, "Luau" music then this is not the album to buy.

I bought this album to see what was it that placed this album above the others and was suprisingly disappointed. Although Tia Carrere has a beautiful voice and Daniel Ho is an excellent musician and Slack key artist, the combination sorely missed with this collaborative album. This is more reminiscent of the "Hawaiian music" tourists think of as Hawaiian music, and if you are looking for something like that then you will enjoy this album. It saddens me that this is what the world sees as "Hawaiian Music" and suggest that Tia sticks to English when singing. ʻO wau no me ke kaumaha.

I’ve been listening to Daniel Ho for a while, and his work with Herb Ohta, Jr. too. So this was a special treat to be introduced to Tia Carrere. There is so much range in types and styles of Hawaiian music; I’m like a kid in a candy store. Oceans of Aloha (and mahalo too)!
  • Amazing album for those familiar with Hawaiian music

Anyone familiar with hawaiian, not the "ja-waiian"style of music, will know that this album fits in comfortably with traditional Hawaiian songs. Daniels Ho's and Tia Carrere's pure and clean voices coupled with the Hawaiian language and slack key guitar will bring back fond memories and that fuzzy "ohana" feeling. This album is a great one to pop in and listen to during a family luau in the backyard or just "talk story" to. I reccommend this album to anyone who listens and appreciates Hawaiian music. Malama Pono!

Just a well written piece of music right here. Nothing fancy, a relaxing album that will help you doze off on a chillin' day at the beach!
