This album was pivotal to me in the late '80s. There is something very aspirational & inspirational about a-ha's music.
  • Thought I already wrote one????????

I have always held this album in high regard. A-ha has created much memorable music since its debut. This sophomore effort may not be as well known as the debut, which sprouted the mega hits "Take on Me" and "The Sun Always Shines on TV", but it shows a more mature and progressive effort in their evolution as a band. From the songs "Scoundrel Days", "I've Been Losing You" and "Manhattan Skyline", it shows the trio is willing to try new concepts and explore new avenues in its pursuit of great music. On a personal note, this album was a staple of mine for well after a year of its debut, and it still remains one of the best albums in my collection. If you have never tried it, you should. I also recommend the entire A-ha collection, including one of their later songs, "Lifelines"
