Ol' Bernie couldn't be bothered to include what even Abraham Lincoln described as being the finest song ever written? Bah, humbug.
  • Great performance, but far too fast

Unfortunately, Leonard Bernstein is aconductor/composer that loves to move things far too fast than what they should be. Many of the songs on this album are rushed, almost to the point of being double-time marches instead of the traditional march tempo. Great performance on the part of the orchestra, but Bernstein would have better served the music by maintaining the standard tempos.

I love this song. This is my auditon piece on 1st Violin for Bakersfield's Kern County Honor Orchestra. I play violin, piano, viola, cello, and ukulele. I'm planning to play Bells & Drums. (Glockenspiel, Timpani, Drum Kit.) Someday I'll be famous.
