I love the original album and I love RA’s interpretation. Don’t expect it to sound like a pop album - this is sad bastard music, but it is good.

this album is okay. i like the mellower perception of the songs but overall, it loses the magic that it has when it fits with the theme, 1989. it’s called that because the sound fits in with the year she was born and this album tarnishes it. it would be better if it was an original album, but once you’ve heard taylor’s album, this one doesn’t capture the essence and grip it should have. however, i do appreciate the feel of the lyrics acoustically, just not the vibe change.
  • Much More Talented Than Taylor Swift

I am glad Ryan Adams did this and in effect put all of those immature millennial and generation z Taylor Swift fans into a fit of outrage. I am not even that much into this type of alternative rock music but I am glad that he did this proving he is a much more talented singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist than Taylor could only dream of being. In this day and age, popularity is not a measure of talent, as already proven by Taylor Swift, and similar pop and dance artists who are not real musicians and basically just overrated celebrities.

  • Music is universal

I love this version of 1989 as much as if not more than the original. It shows that lyrics and music are completely universal and genres don’t really matter when you have meaningful lyrics and talented musicians that can mold and create authentically. Bravo!
  • not a good version of taylor's 1989 album

Usually not into putting negative reviews but I feel like I have to for this one. Whoever checks this review please don't just read the begining. Reasons I don't like this version: 1. This is plagiarism I mean he didn't even give her credit for being the original 2. Definitly didn't do a good job at all. For example he made Style sound like a rock song when we all know it is a pop and also Shake it off is originally a total bop but he made the song way more melo which I definitly don’t like 3. The only song that he actually did a good job on was Bad Blood 4.The original songs or albums are generally better. This Is Not An Exception! 5. Based on the way he did this album I think he should stick with just doing originals. Please don't do any other of your own versions of pop artists songs or pop albums. So that's why I have to say about this.

Ryan Adams has achieved a surprisingly brilliant and classy remake of Taylor Swift's Songs. This is my all time favorite Ryan Adam's album and was not even aware of the Taylor Swift connection until recently. Thanks to Ryan for all the work he put into this project.
