Brings back childhood memories of my parents and relatives playing these tracks in the early 80s on 33 1/3 rpm vinyl.

Long overdue... These guys have been putting in work for decades. To the Depeche Mode fans meet there fathers "Kraftwerk" ... They should have been in the hall of fame 20 years ago, this album proves it. The pop industry owes them a check I can't think of one group that wasn't influenced by them hands down

Kraftwerk have been the most influential group in the electronic music ever. It is amazing to note that compositions like these were recorded… 40 years ago! They were the first to convince us that electronic rhythms would have heart and soul within. It deserves the price you are going to pay for it.
  • Its normal to compute.

The creator of modern electro pop is Kraftwerk. Just ask NIN, Daft Punk, or just about anyone else on the radio. These guys started in the 70s before anyone realized the future sound of synthesizer and computers and pocket calculators. You may not "get" the sound at first, songs like Metropolis or TEE or Uranium or News- these are advanced. So start with songs like Elektrogardiogram, Vitamin, Numbers, and their more organic Neon Lights or She's a Model- these are more palatable to the uninitiated ear. The catalog is not too deep, go start with MINIMUM-MAXIMUM, and work back to their self titled 1971 debut. Seriously- 1971. You wear how old? -15?

Kraftwerk are THE pioneers of the genre, not Daft Punk, not Erasure, not New Order, Depeche Mode, Yaz(oo), Can, Tangerine Dream, Yellow Magic Orchestra. Kraftwerk has been doing it since 1970! So many have been influenced by this band, and there are very few musical groups that can be considered truly important to music or a genre. The Beatles, Bob Marley… Kraftwerk.
