What a great introduction not just to the artist but to the ambient and drone genres. Favorite song is Virginals II.

This one in my opinion is one step forward towards the perfection of his sample-instrument-based style. There are so many sounds, colors, and textures in this record that sometimes it can get intoxicating. Listen to it at high volumes, with headphones, and you will hear all these elements surfacing.
  • Great follow up to Ravedeath

like Sigur Ros but without the vocals. If you have just ONE of these high-rated albums, you pretty much have them all. I like real people singing with real instruments - guitar, keyboards, bass and drum - and creating songs with a soul - not this stuff that is meaningless.

This album just blew my mind. Hecker is so consistent in making thoughtful and well-layered music. This is a beautiful LP & I highly reccomend that you buy it. You're on this page, so I assume you know about him. SO BUY IT. LISTEN. GET CRISPY

Tim Hecker is a genius, every album from beginning to end is meticulously landscaped to create lush beautifully warped soundscapes. I couldn't live without his music, and thats coming froma guy who considers Cocteau Twins, Grimes and Joanna Newsom to be otherworldly alien geniuses. smoke a joint and get Ravedeath and Harmony in Ultraviolet.

I love this album so far! Maybe not quite as accessible as Ravedeath but more rewarding is other ways. A must buy if you're a fan of his past stuff at all.
