I first heard Lincoln Durham on a compilation cd while back ago and loved Reckoning Lament!! A touch of old Delta blues with a Creedence mix. The whole is awesome! Listen to this album with a few beers and you won’t regret it!!!

I stumbled upon his EP a while ago, I was an instant fan, I was just chilling on the couch when I decided, to check and see if he had come out with a full album, and oh happy day, he did. I'm just sorry I didn't do it sooner! Every song is awesome. Now I just need to see him in a lil juke joint or small venue, and that'll ice the cake for me.

There are very few new artists that I've ever seen such promise in like Lincoln. This stuff on this album is old and new and better than most music from any era. He's got a classic and weathered voice that comes off as experienced and wise. Stellar guitar work is swampy and rootsy. Many of these songs would fit perfectly on The Walking Dead. Songs like Last Red Dawn would be a perfect background to that that sweaty and dangerous Georgia setting. Absolutely first rate lyrics going on as well. I don't equate many artists with Dan Auerbach, but this is Black Keys quality. Lincoln is top notch on this album and on THE forefront of swampy music. I'd actually venture to say that this is the best swamp album of all time. My only concern is that this album is so good that it'll be hard to do it justice with a follow up. I'm praying for a forthcoming sophmore album that is both soon and just as raw and real. It doesn't have to be better, but just of a similar quality. I'm hoping he doesnt dress up anything in his future albums and maintains that feeling he accomplished on this album.

It's not very often that I come across an artist or band that I've never heard anything about. I saw this one in the top ten on Lonestar music's top albums. Figured I'd give it a go since I had all of the other top ten's already. Within the first ten seconds of listening I found myself just smiling. I haven't found one song on this album that I don't love. I agree with the first reviewer that the last time I was this excited about a debut was Ryan Bingham's first. I just hope for two things 1) That he comes up to the northeast and 2)That he doesn't let Hollywood or Nashville ruin him.

It is rare that I give a 5! And even more rare that I enjoy every song on an album, like I did on this one. Great voice, great sense of rhythm, what a terrific vibe. I love southern rock- blues and Lincoln Durham merges old school blues, southern rock and great soulful vocals. Just terrific!
