What a treat! With his soulful take on an American classic, Esteban pays wonderful tribute to Johnny Cash on an album that pleases from beginning to end. As to be expected, the guitar work is beautiful throughout (with a few twists!). But the surprise is how quickly Esteban's deep, sublime vocals assure the listener that Johnny's legacy is being held in expert hands. Whether you're a casual country fan, or a seasoned traveler on the crooked road, you'll appreciate this high compliment from one man in black to another...

It seems wrong to call this amazing collection of songs a 'tribute' when it feels like so much more. Yes, Esteban is an amazing player, and yes, he can sing too!, but it is his interpretation of these songs through both mediums that make this collection special. I find myself going back to the instrumental version of 'Hurt' again and again; we all know Johnny didn't write this one, but it was his performance of it that we will all remember. Esteban turns it into a heartbreakingly beautiful lament which echoes Cash's own interpretation perfectly. Lots of great stuff here; queue it up, sit back and just let it play and enjoy the hell out of it from beginning to end! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Just when I thought Esteban couldn't get any better...he displays amazing vocal talent on "Wear the Black". Who knew he could sing like that? The album is a tribute to Johnny Cash, and Esteban does a fantastic job in delivering favorite Cash tunes. I highly recommend purchasing this album whether you are an Esteban fan or classic country listener. One thing is for sure...you WILL be an Esteban fan once you hear this incredible compilation.
Great Album if you like great guitar and love Cash's songs!

I don not understand the few people who have rated this album as poor. The only thing that I can figure out is that they were expecting to hear Cash. Esteban is not Cash. But Cash was no Esteban either. This is a tribute to Johnny Cash not a copy of Cash.
Esteban has a very good voice for singing this style of music. But don't buy it if you are expecting to hear Cash. Buy it if you like Esteban and love his guitar. My favorite song is on disk 2. This is a haunting version of Hurt. Love the album.

I have listened to Johnny Cash all my life and I absolutely LOVE this album. The arrangements are so cool! Hot players!
Just listen to RING OF FIRE or GHOST RIDERS IN THE SKY. Then you will know what i am talking about.
This guitar player can sing. Who would ever have thought? The whole album is like this...great songs that bring back

I SAW ESTEBAN LIVE IN FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ. HE PLAYED TUNES FROM WEAR THE BACK. I LOVED EACH SONG AND I HAVE DOWNLOADED JACKSON. HE WAS A GENTLEMAN AND LET ME TAKE A PHOTO OF HIM WITH MY WIFE WHO IS IN A WHEELCARE.
ESTEBAN'S VERSION OF JACKSON IS VERY DANCEABLE. HE DESERVES A GRAMMY !!!
