You can dance to it, trance to it, chill to it, or do yoga and meditate to it. Your choice. This is a wonderful sensual blend of ecstatic Sufi music with a very high vibration, that makes you want to whirl like a dervish and stamp your feet with joy.
  • Another Excellent Album!

Bharamji, a Kurdish musician from Iran, manages to create an amazing landscape of rich sounds and Persian vocals. He uses traditional instruments associated with Iran (ney, santoor [not the Indian santoor], setar, kamanche [associated in Persian and Kurdish music] and various drums) to create a new interpretation of Iranian music. As a result, the music is modern, tranquil, but stays true to the sound of Iran. I pray that one day he becomes a legend in the Iranian community as someone who has contributed beauty to Iran regardless of him being Kurdish or Iranian. So when you need something to relax to, Bharamji is an excellent choice.

An album well worth the cost of entry, this work is everything one expects for a modern alternative music with an eastern twist: an upbeat, mystical journey.

Haunting, captivating. Heard it randomly in a store, bought it on the spot. Wish I could find more...

Sufi Safir is beautiful and mysterious. It takes you to a far away place. The Way to the Light is an excellent song.

Bahramji, born in the Kurdish city of Kermanshah in Persia, creates special musical combinations between the ancient and traditional. He connects the Modern with the Technical; most of the lyrics of his songs are based on Rumi’s and other mystical poetry, and the tracks carry an urban vibe rooted in meditation. He composes deeply spiritual, ambient grooves that have become part of the "conscious" chill-out scene. Using instruments like the dotar, dumbek and cymbals, Bahramji adds his own smoky tenor into the mix. From start to finish, his compositions fuse both spiritual and physical yearning together into one seductive, yet inspiring, sound.
