If you get past the initial shock, this is a great album!

Give this one a listen with an open mind. There are some great back beats, killer arrangements, great recording quality, and clearly the original artists as well as Pat are enjoying this. It is certainly different for a Pat Boone-era singer, but that's what makes it fun. James Brown, Smokey Robinson, Sam Moore, Kool & The Gang, The Four Tops, Ray Parker Jr., Sister Sledge, Earth Wind and Fire all join in. Who else can pull something like that off? You go, Pat...

Pat is having fun. Are you willing to join in on the goofy ride?
I would not discount the fact that a couple of these are duets with the original artists (KC, and Smokey). At least it does not contain a duet with Debby doing "You Light up My Life".

Pat Boone is in on the joke! Beats his "America" nonsense. You get a funky rhythm and a laugh all at the same time. I hope Boone follows up the Metal CD and this Retro-Disco CD with...hmm, he did the patriotic number, religion is played out, he can't do R&B covers straight as radio plays African Americans these days and doesn't force them to the back of the bus...Boone did the country thing. I KNOW! Opera! Pat Boone does M. Butterfly! Maybe Pat Boone does a Gay Rave! Enjoy the joke and goof on your friends with a cut here and there.
This is crazy hilarious!
