Great album for driving. Great album to play for background while working. Good lyrics. Pretty sure at least three songs are misnamed though (Headed South, Leave Your Leaving, and Alright). Highly recommended for alternative country or even folk or bluegrass fans. A great mix of genres you'd be hard-pressed to find in another band, and CCR (tough to use that acronym btw) does not disappoint with musical style or lyrics. My favorite album of theirs so far as well.

CCR is awesome, but buy The Wormy Dog version of Carney Man. TRUST ME
Good stuff, but live is better

Ragweed is one of those bands that just sounds better live, or recorded live. Check out Bill Bobs or Live and Loud in Tulsa. Great rock and roll.
CCR is the best

Cross Canadian Ragweed is my fav. band in the world. They are the best in concert so you need to go see them. This album is great. Not my 100% fav by them but they are all so great I can't even pick a fav.. Hey, hey, Jenny, and Carney Man are some of the best songs made.
Ragweed's 1st studio album their worst...still good :)

First of all, I like this album so don't get me wrong. After all, I gave it 4 of 5 stars It's worth the price just for "Jenny" and the studio version of "Carney Man". There are also a couple of other songs I really like here, such as "Alright", "Hey Hey, and "Leave Your Leaving". However, this is the only CCR album where I find myself skipping tracks and only listening to a few of 'em.
I don't care for this version of "Proud Souls". It's a Jason Boland tune, and I think CCR actually recorded it before he did. Once you hear Jason Boland & The Stragglers do this one, you realize how much the CCR version pales in comparison. (And don't hate me...Cody Canada would tell you the same thing.) Also, I always skip "Help Me (Get Over This Mountain)", "April's Girlfriend", and "Sweet Teresa".
You may like this album well enough if you haven't heard much of CCR's music before. However, if you're not already a CCR fan I recommend you start with one of their other albums, like the purple album, "Live & Loud at the Wormy Dog Saloon", or "Highway 377". Come back to this one later, though!
