peaceful and calming background to reading, reflection, and prayer

Been looking forward to this release after enjoying the things he co-wrote and published with his wife, Christy. Tracks transition nearly seamlessly and convey a very bright, calming, reflective mood. Almost ambient and atmospheric at times. Much more subtle melodies and themes than anything else I had heard from him; it does not demand your attention. While I also enjoy the more distinct and driving elements he wrote in Christy’s albums, this release has a peaceful and undistracting quality. Feels like a painting on a wall which I wouldn’t necessarily scrutinize for fine details but it makes an unobtrusive feature brightening the room while focusing on something else. Only after listening did my wife explain that was Nathan’s intention — to accompany reading, reflection, and prayer. Hits the mark.
