It's lush, hypnotic and dreamy. Every song is a journey. Her voice is like butter. Everything is better with butter. The Gentry is brilliant. I immediately thought of Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem. It's beautiful from beginning to end. Alien, Kadiatou, Holy Room, Let Me and Midnight Angels are my favs. Instant classic.

Somi is such a phenomenal artist. She's honest and sensitive to the issues of our people. I have everything she's written and released and I just can't say enough good things about her gift of writing, her powerful voice and vibe. See her in person perform you will not believe some of the sounds that come out of her, absolutely riveting. Her band is quite amazing too and they gel so very well. I hope everyone reading this review purchases the album, you will be so glad you did.
