if i am not mistaken, this is the band responsible for the video i remember from early mtv, but couldn't remember what it was. it had spinning digital faces. very primitive animation, but different from anything else. but song 1 is missing here. i think it is the song for the video 'adventures in success'. i would be interested to know more about this if someone knows the facts about this album. i am surprised i didn't know the list of contributors to this album. they are very big name artists. i have wondered for years about this song. but for some reason it is not on this album, but it is available on another compilation. glad to find odd things like this on itunes. not sure about these not being the originals like another person said. but i think one of my lifelong questions has been answered.

THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM!!!! I lost all my vinyl in huricane Katrina. I thought I would never see or hear this record again. I tried months ago on iTunes & it wasn't there. But it's here now! Get us some kind of biograhy on Will Powers & the guests on this album.
  • Tech glitch in my download of "Adventures..."

This is a great album and I am so happy to finally have it all on iTunes. However, my download of the first track has a glitch in the first seconds that I have not been able to eliminate. Luckily I have the track (in a shorter edit) from another source, so I still have the basic song in pristine form. But it's disappointing nonetheless that the "official" version is defective. It's so un-Will!
  • Who are the celebrity participants?

I'm so glad that this album was finally made available — it was one of my favorites back in the day, and I thought it was great fun. In fact, I was playing my vinyl copy just the other day. I'm curious, though: Does anyone know who the celebrity participants were? Nobody is officially billed on the record jacket except for Lynn Goldsmith, who masterminded this and serves as producer, and Todd Rundgren, who mixed it. Inside the jacket, the record envelope lists several dozen "supporters," including a lot of famous names: Sting, Warren Beaty, Meatloaf, Robert Palmer and Niles Rodgers, among many others. Problem is, none of the names are connected with any particular task; it's just a bunch of names. The vocal on "Kissing With Confidence" is obviously Carly Simon, uncredited. Who are the others on the record? I'd be particularly curious to know who the narrator is.
  • Adventures in Success: quirky but musically solid.

The lyrics of the song "Adventures in Success" are inspirational self help instructions put to an extrememly catchy tune with a killer hook. "Make it habit, make it happen." In the early '80s the MTV video of this song used state-of-the-art computer animation. I've been looking for this song for years, I'm glad it finally arrived on iTunes.

Inspirational, exciting, invigorating and funny to boot, this is one of the most unique aural experiences you will have, all while tapping your toes. Change your life with this record that predates Baz Luhrman's transformational single "Sunscreen" by at least 20 years. On it are Todd Rundgren (uncredited production and guitar?), Carly Simon (singing an unbelievably cute "Kissing With Confidence," Sting (bass on "Adventures...", and god knows who else since there has never been a complete credit list as far as this writer knows. The mastermind behind this uniquely different disc was Lynn Goldsmith, one of the top rock and roll photographers of the 70s. I think todd R. had MUCH to do with the disc coming to fruition, since it sounds incredibly like his work at the time, but what do I know?! I do know you will find this a fun, inspirational and possibly life-altering musical experience. Hey, life-altering for $9.99? how could you go wrong?
