Description

There's a monster living in my house.

I can't see it, but I hear it. Creeping around at night, shuffling through my things, and digging through my trash. It fixes the leaks in my roof, snuffs out the candles it doesn't like, and only occasionally growls at me from under the bed.

But then the dreams start... and they're a little too real. The Monster is doing things to me. And I don't know if I like it or not.

And then I learn what it is.

Noćnamora. Dream Walker. Nightmare.

I live in the house of The King of Nightmares... and he wants me as his pet.

This is an urban fantasy romance with horror elements. Please check the author's note before proceeding with the book.

This story is the first book in the Beautiful Nightmare series, and was the 2021 winner of the Halloween contest on Literotica. It has been edited and expanded from its original version.

Well I didn’t think I was into monsters but now I’m not so sure. Lol. My only complaint is that it’s short. I need more. I need more of Ava and her monster. But even with the length it doesn’t feel rushed or thoughtless. It’s written very well and easy to read. As you can tell, I finished it in a day. Lol. I was sucked in. There’s romance, a little spice, b&e, and all types of magical creatures. I’m most definitely a fan of this world Lindsay has created. TW. off page murder, dream of past r*ape, attempted r*pe, kidnapping. Darkness 3 Spice 3

I very much so enjoyed this book. If I had to pick only one thing to talk about it would definitely be the “nightmare scenes” 🫠 I loved the authors ability to tell so much and create a world of monsters in such a short time. Would 110% recommend this book!

Are you afraid of the monster under your bed?? Ava moves into a creepy house that she strangely finds comforting. It doesn’t take long to notice her trash moved around, food missing, creaking sounds in the house, and her nightmares are replaced with dreams she can’t explain. “Maybe the terrors of the house would block out the terrors I saw every night when my head hit the pillow.” She is never able to see her Dream Walker, but he communicates with her in different ways. As time goes on, she no longer fears the monster under her bed, but fears losing him forever when he is taken from her. “Your fear is mine, Ava. You are mine. Mine to protect. Mine to play with. Mine to tease, mine to taste. Mine to consume. Mine to drown in. And I will not lose you.” Lovely Dreamer is a quick, fun read and I loved jumping into this world of monsters, witches and werewolves and look forward to more. “Because even though I’d never been this terrified in my life, I’d never felt this alive.”
