Weightless (Ambient Transmission, Vol. 2)

When I want (need) a 30 minute break in the afternoon, this puts me in a relaxed state and calms my mind. Sometimes I’m pretty sure I fall asleep, if so it’s only for 10-15 minutes tops. I’m so relaxed that falling asleep no longer becomes a goal. I feel refreshed afterwards, and ready to tackle the second half of my day!

As someone who has anxiety attacks, this works wonders for my frayed nerves.

Fantastic for relaxation, except for track 2. Downloaded this for my son who has high anxiety, especially at night when scared of everything! This album really helps reduce his anxiety, except for tracks 2, which is creepy and scary sounding. I just made a playlist with all but track 2 and problem solved.

Really quite astounding. I know a lot about sound and its effects on the mind, body and environment, as both a scientist and a professional musician. But even that deep knowledge didn't prepare me for the speed at which these tracks induce muscle relaxation. Very powerful - get the album - well with it!

I first heard this artist on Comcast soundscape channel and was hypnotized by the music. I knew I had to have it and bought the whole album and now I play it every night. It helps me go into a very deep sleep. I'm a huge fan of ambient music and like artists like Steve Roach and Robert Rich. I can hardly wait to explore other albums by this artist.

MARCONI UNION is considered one of the top ambient (and electronic-synth) acts in the world. They have taken another giant step forward with their seventh album, WEIGHTLESS (AMBIENT TRANSMISSIONS VOL. 2). The first track, WEIGHTLESS PART 1, was named “the most relaxing song EVER” by the British Mindlab Institute. TIME MAGAZINE called that track “aural bliss” and placed it at No. 11 on their list of Top 50 Inventions of the year. That first track is the most traditional ambient, but some of the other five tunes have pulses and rhythmic touches which pushes the music into a slightly different realm. The music takes your mind and body into deep immersion. Marconi Union counts Brian Eno, Steve Reich and Kraftwerk among their inspirations. While the Marconi Union name references the Italian engineer known for his pioneering work with long-distance radio transmissions, this musical group is transmitting on an even broader scale -- throughout the world and possibly even to the cosmos. Remove any unnecessary weight in your life, tune in and float on.
