After the success of Call Me, it was evident that Blondie were going in a different direction, experimenting with different sounds. That's just what this album is, many genres rolled into one dynamite package. This earned them two more number one hits, the reggae inspired The Tide Is High, and the trailblazing first ever rap song to hit number 1, Rapture. Other styles explored are disco (Live it Up), torch (here's to looking at you, faces), 50s pop/rock (T-birds), mariachi (Go Through It), and snake charmer (Do the Dark). A pretty diverse set of tunes here, something for everyone. Personally I like this album a lot better than Eat to the Beat, which is severely overrated imo.

The punk / new wave scene was forever altered thanks to the contributions of this amazing band. Their music is as genius and transformative as ever. If you have never seen them live, add the experience to your life’s soundtrack. **SUPERB***

I came here in search of "Eat to the Beat," but apparently, no one has seen fit to make it available for download - on iTunes, anyway. While I was here however, I rediscovered and downloaded "The Jam Was Moving" from Debbie's solo album (KooKoo). So yeah, it's funny how things work out sometimes when you're searching for songs on iTunes!
