This album is truly amazing! As an artist, Eric Benét is highly underated! His voice is sexy, his lyrics are beautifully and intricately written on all five of his solo albums, the harmonies are excellent and well layered in the correct places, the music and instrumental aspects are superb! He has one of those voices that blows your mind every track and you can never really get used to it because there is nothing average about his voice! His voice truly penetrates the soul and makes you feel what he feels! What a powerful voice it is! Just an amazing artist! Wow! :)

..............There aren't words that can accurately describe just how touching, heartfelt, and outright amazing this album truly is. Every, I repeat, EVERY SINGLE TRACK can be listened to, and loved. It's not one of those albums that you can listen to all the way through, but some songs are a little iffy. No, this is one of those albums that you listen to, and you feel like you just died and went to heaven! Where every single track is not only good, but so good that you couldn't possibly pick a favorite. On this album, I can't even narrow it down to 5!! There are 14 songs that are my favortie on this album. Now, i'm not a big Eric Benet fan. But this album touched my heart in such a way that no other album has done before. With a single listen, this album becomes a favorite. THE favorite! One listen, and this pure work of art becomes worth the purchase a hundred-fold. This is a REQUIREMENT IN EVERY SINGLE MUSIC COLLECTION!!!!! Buy it, you'll love him for it!

This album is what made me come back to Eric Benet. He needed to let his feeling about what happened come to the surface and own up his way. I don't like how the review from the new album trys to apologize to us for Hurricane. I thought Hurricane was heartfelt however, the reviews for the new album have me feeling as though we were all played. Eric stop playing the game and just be who you are, an amazing singer. Hurricane is still my favorite Album. It may not of hit the charts as high as you wanted it to but, it seems to me that, was the real you.

This particular album is one that helps you grow through a situation it is clear that Mr.Benet ran into himself and learned to appreciate who God has made him to be. Thank you for sharing a growing experience for those of us who are currently going through our own personal Hurricane. Be Bleesed.
  • One of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard

What is up with the malicious, biased cd review that reviews everything except the music on the album? That reviewer may need some therapy. Anyway, as far as the music is concerned; the "Be Myself Again" track has a contagious bluesy/country feel but what really got me were the lyrics. Anyone who has really come through a tough time and then felt that fog of depression lifting will definitely relate to this one. On each of his cds there is one track where the beauty of his voice, the lyrics, and the melody come together in such a potent way it makes you scream, "Eric Benet! Why you want to do that to me?!!" That track on this album is "I Wanna Be Loved". "The Last Time" is such a timeless, classy ballad...the kind that makes you believe in fairy tales. I hope he continues making music for many years to come. If you've never heard his music, listen to those two ballads and you'll be hooked for life like I am.

DAMN I love this album with all of my heart. Especially "My Prayer", "Cracks of My Broken Heart", AND "Last Time". Whoa. He really outdid himself with this one. However, I am upset with and almost feel insulted by the iTunes album review. It completely downplays the album, is ENTIRELY irrelevant to the music and sounds really biased. But anyways I think this is a great album and one of my favorites.

What is up with the reviewer?? Did they have a bad breakup. Why not judge the man on his music, and not his split from his ex-wife??? The bulk of the review was about Eric's personal life. What I understand his ex has some issues of her own that played a part in the break up. The music, lyrics, his voice outstanding!!!

This is the first time that I heard Eric and he pours his heart out in these tracks. I feel that Hurricane is a great cd. That is why I give it the higest rating. Far as I am concern the man can sing any time for me.

I have always been an Eric Benet fan, from his first CD through Day in the Life; after sustaining on the rare appearances on soundtracks and the albums of others, this CD was well worth the wait. In other words, if divorcing Halle Berry brings out this level of creative genius, they should remarry and divorce again (or he should look up Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, and marry and divorce them too!). Though there are a few songs that I skip when I'm not in the mood for too slow, I would give 5 stars to Pretty Baby, Man Enough to Cry, Be Myself Again, Making Love, Cracks of My Broken Heart, and The Last Time. There is enough material here to make it another 6 years before another new release.
