You don’t even have to have played it to appreciate the quality here. I mentioned this in a review of volume two- but the decision to use emotional tracks over intense action themes was the right move. With sounds like these, raw emotion is evoked. And that’s what the game called for. It wasn’t about bludgeoning the way to the end. It was about unusual magnitudes of loss, extremely difficult decisions, and bonding under the circumstances- living in the moment. It’s long past the end of the world, brought to you through sound.

I love the music in the last of us and I just searched this up and ITS A ALBUM AHH. If you wanna play the game I recommend that do not let a 9 or 10 year old play this game there are a lot of f bombs by one of the npc but other than that the game is really fun 🤩

There’s just nothing wrong with this game. Yes, i totally ignore gameplay and mechanical flaws, but that’s because it is totally counterpunched by a truly incredible narrative and amazing characters. I don’t think I’ve seen something quite as emotional in a video game than this. It’s just amazing.

Words cannot describe how... just absolutely amazing and beautiful this soundtrack is. It fits the theme perfectly and I believe that if anyone else were to have created this soundtrack, this game would not be the same. The first time I listened to this, I just sat there and listened. No other soundtrack that is all instrumental has the ability to do that, but this one did. This game is such a masterpiece that needs to go down in history, but not only does the game need to go down, so does this soundtrack and in my opinion, I think it should go down as the greatest game soundtrack to ever be made. These songs have added a whole other level to the game that simply could not be achieved by anyone else. I am so glad that ND chose to have Gustavo work on this. He perfectly executed it and for me, it will always be the best since it brings me back and makes me feel like I was one of the characters that was in the game.

This soundtrack at times is suspenseful and creepy, but in all it is a very calming soundtrack and makes me forget about this world for a while. It definitely means more to me after playing the game, and I doubt anybody would be looking at this unless they played the game.
