I liked Pritam first then i started to dislike him due to all the plagarization issues. Nevertheless he is one music composer who has the knack of sculpturing songs that represent class and quality. He has his ups and downs but when teaming up with the Butt camp he always delivers.
This album is a complete winner from the start to end. I did expect an all male album and traces of Jannat 1. Pritam has packaged it well. Tu Hi Mera at first sounded typical but with repeated listen you feel Shafaqat has nailed it singing wise but not much from the musical arrangement despite Pritam making it pleasant all the way.
Next Tera Deedar Hua is the best song for me personally in the album. The musical arrangements are top notch Pritam excels at it. Singers wise, Javed Ali provides the required amount of extravagant to the song while Rahat does his version better as well. Hope they retain the Javed version for the movie, he suits Emraan more.
Tujhe Sochta Hoon is elevated even further by the rendition of K.K. Pritam adds elegance with the vocals in the background. Simple and stunning. Nikhil Desouza version feels good but with K.Ks version on top its tough to give him any priority. Its sad two different versions by 2 different singers is present in the album and one betters the other.
Rab Ka Shukrana with the minimal arrangement is as serene as the rendition. Mohit does everything perfect that he completes the song. Shukran Mohit for such a pleasant rendition.
Finally Jannatein Kahan is filled with traces of Zara Sa! Even this time the Pritam-K.K combination is a showstopper minus the english portions. SEL should learn a lesson or two on how to score music on a sequel when the expectations are sky high.
Definitely the best album since Rockstar in 2011.
Note: People should stop comparing Harris Jayaraj to Pritam as atleast Pritam is experimenting on new frontiers and producing hits on contraire Harris is failing to experiment but delivering usual hits on repeat. Waiting for the day when Harris really experiments. Pritam is lucky he has a set of Directors who bring out the best from him.
