  • Music from the ukulele angels

There is something innately perfect about this recording. The shimmering sounds that Daniel Ho manages to coax from his ukulele are so sweet and so pure, there are moments that the instrument almost sounds like a harp, and the tunes almost become hymnals. This is music that slowly creeps into your soul. Five stars, no...TEN stars for Daniel Ho's Polani. Brilliant CD!

This will become one of my favorite ukulele albums. He has beautiful ukulele finger style technique. I would like to get his music transcriptions for these pieces if they are available. This is a delight to listen to.

  • A "Must Have" for Your Library

My initial reaction when listening to this album was to lean back, close my eyes, and just breathe...this is the album that ALL ukulele players should have in their library. As a high school Polynesian Music instructor, it's difficult to find quality examples of music for students to listen to and emulate. Quite often, it becomes a patchwork of "a song here, part of another one there." With so many musicians out there that merely "tinker" with the ukulele it is absolutely refreshing to finally have an album that showcases the simple beauty of the instrument through the mastery of his craft. No singing, no backup: Just Daniel, a KoAloha, and the moment. Fingerstyle playing is my all-time favorite (especially on harp guitar), so mahalo nui for his hard work to create a "must have" collection of great music not only for myself, but for every music student, teacher, musician, and fan!
