The real gem here is by Paul Collins and the Beat. Previously, they put out one of the best power pop albums ever, The Beat. Find it, buy it and start cruising down the road at full volume !

I remember wearing the audio cassette version of this soundtrack out during the 80s, so to finally get it on CD is tremendous! Yes I said CD, this is one of those rare exceptions where I would rather pick up the tangible album than download individual tracks. I want to see the original album art, liner notes and have this one on the shelf with my other favorite albums. All of the original tracks are here, with Kenny Loggins dominating the first half of the album. As much as people remember "I'm Alright", to me, the best Loggins track on this album is "Make the Move" and this soundtrack is the only way you can get it. "Mr. Night" is also a standout song from Loggins that I believe is also making it's CD debut with this release. "Any Way You Want It" by Journey is one of the best classic rock songs of all-time and it also reminds me of one of the movie's funniest moments. "Something On Your Mind" by the highly underrated Hilly Michaels is the song played during Al Czervik's wild ride behind the wheel of boat that ruins Judge Smails new boat. However, this version of the song is not the instrumental used in the film, it contains Hilly's vocal track, which is the version the soundtrack originally had. Since this is a re-release, I was hoping they would've included a bonus instrumental track of "Something On Your Mind" to truly make the album complete, but beggars can't be choosers. It's been 30 years since Caddyshack first debuted in theaters and it's become arguably one of the most quoted movies ever made (if not the most quoted comedy ever) and this soundtrack reissue is the perfect way to celebrate 30 years of this classic movie.
