    The Philadelphia Orchestra was Rachmaninov's favorite and Ormandy was a friend of the composer. And Rachmaninov's music is perfect for this orchestra: check out the Adagio! Gorgeous. If you are looking for a cheap introduction to Rachmaninov's symphonic works I can think of none better than this.
