Very simply put, I am a Christmas music fanatic and speaking for only myself, this is not only my favorite collection of Christmas tunes, but may be the greatest Christmas album ever recorded!

We play it every year, and it doesn't seem like Christmas until we have! :-)

When the Celtic Christmas Podcast asked what are the best Celtic christmas albums, a bunch of people said The Bells of Dublin. I can't argue. Musically the album is fantastic. The Chieftains excel time and time again. They deserve the title Ambassadors of Irish Music. On the Christmas side, the album starts off a little slow to capture the Christmas spirit. But about five tracks in, the spirit takes over. There's also a nice mix of guest musicians to give it their outstanding international feel and appeal. Buy the album.

I can't remember what possessed me to purchase this CD years ago, but I'm sure glad I did. My favorite track is O Holy Night sung by Rickie Lee Jones. Seems like an odd match, but it works, as does the rest of the CD.

Never will you find a down home experience like this. You will be transported to Dublin for a Christmas treat. The wren song is worth the price of the album.

This a wonderfully rich mix of songs for the holiday with the Chieftains tying it all together ... nothing cliche here. My favorite holiday album for many years. Take a look at the guest mix - Elvix Costello, Marianne Faithfull, Jackson Browne, Rikki Lee Jones ... who knows how they came up with this list but somehow it all works very well.
