By far best musical piece she's ever sang. I've been looking for it for a while, I guess it just now came to the iTunes store.
CD Has Great Music, But Carly Not At Her Best Voice Here

You certainly can't fault the production or the songs, they're among the best standards Carly Simon has sung in her numerous rendtions of American standards. But upon close listen, Carly is not in great voice here. There is a noticeable strain in her voice, especially as she tries to hit the high notes (and unfortunately there are plenty of 'em here). It's hard not to notice the strain in her voice, also hurt by audible hoarseness too. You'd be better served by downloading her "Moonlight Serenade", which was recorded 3 years after this one, where Carly sounds in much, much better voice and relaxed. I'm also deducting stars for her duet with John Travolta here, which was totally unnecessary. Or she could've gotten an actual SINGER who could sing, like Harry Connick Jr or Michael Feinstein. I'm sure they would jump at the chance to duet with Carly. But she ended up with Travolta??? Com'on, Carly, you can do better than that. Get "Moonlight Serenade" instead of this one.

I just love Carly Simon's rendition of Laura, one of my all-time favorite songs. It led me to purchase the album and I was not sorry. In the song Film Noir, Carly captured the essence of such movies as Sunset Blvd and You Won't Forget Me brought visions of Barbara Stanwyk in Double Indemnity. Any fan of this genre of movie will be pleased to listen to Film Noir.
