I'm THRILLED to have found this treasure! It reminds me of my Grandma who was so glad to have escaped Germany yet missed it so much! As I get older I miss her singing. When I was a little girl, I remember her speaking of the difference between "high German" taught in our schools and the "people's German" which this album truly captures! I feel like she is really with me as I listen to this! Very comforting reminder to me of those lazy days of the 50's!
