Illmatic is number 2 and It Was Written is number 3 for me but something about this album overtakes them. Illmatic is an undoubtable classic and It Was Written is a great album but Lost Tapes has a sort of darker grittiness that I personally feel those albums don’t have

A lot of these songs were supposed to be on his 3rd project ...I Am which was supposed to be a double cd project. I was like "what??, he left these out??"....

Personally this album is up there with nas's first 3 albums so many good memory's listening to this album simply put this album is dope. Real hip hop heads have this album in there collections

Man this album is on fire! I just wish that other rappers had the voice he has. I mean I listen to what he says and it's just amazing..I mean amazing how he changes up but always seems to be the standard. He's like a street prophet!!! If you are not into church and you're doing bad, it's like Nas can relate and he'll tell a story with Poetic rhyme schemes and flawless rhythm to make you say...yeahhh softly while bobbing ya head. #1 ...please keep making albums!!
