This guy wrote many of the blues songs that we have come to love. In the 1970's when I first started listening to the Blues on scratchy old Vinyls, written by Willie Dixon kept appearing time after time. He is the Blues Master. And yes, he is the Blues!
A must have for any serious Blues collection.

To say this is a great album is an understatement.
WHO in the music industry has not covered these tunes, such as The Stones, The Doors,....good, but never as good as the author/blues master Willie Dixon.
I would pick out a tune or two to have a potential blues fan focus on,...but they're ALL great, and ALL masterpieces in the blues world.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again,...one would be crazy to NOT have this album in their music library,...it would be incomplete without it!

While Willie Dixon's songs are well known throughout the blues world, and have been turned into standards by the likes of Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters, it's great to hear them interpreted by the author. Many of the versions here are terrific. I particularly like "The Seventh Son", but they're all good.
This album would be 5 stars, except I found the sound overall to be just a little "muddy". Someone needs to give this the good remastering job it deserves. Regardless, it's a nice listen.

It's great to listen to this music. Willie is the grandfather of a lot of the blues tunes that we know from Howlin Wolf, Cream, Ten Years After and others. Just great music.
