Essential 007

Having grown up with Commander Bond's exploits, in both the books and movies, the long awaited final chapter does not dissappoint. Hans Zimmer pulls us in with his haunting melodies, the use of the brass, strings and woodwinds are arranged magnificently, along with the orchestra, the entire soundtrack grabs you and shakes you through the final moments. There are a number of instrumentals that tell a story, and the movie itself is as hoped for (and more). There are is no mistaking that baseline beat, so deeply ingrained into the opening of any James Bond movie, this is no exception, the use of it throughout, along with other mixes are fantastic. Thank you Mr. Zimmer, you have exceeded our expectations, again.

This is fantastic. Hans really did some great work for this. He doesn’t change up the Bond theme very much if at all, but we don’t really need an update because it still slaps and through the evolution of the series hasn’t changed much anyway. This is a very well rounded score. It has some very romantic and soft tracks, some that pop with action, and some very somber and emotional tracks that gave me chills. This score in my opinion needs to be nominated for best score at the oscars but I don’t think it will. It’s not something that the Academy usually digs very much but I hope we see it get a nom! I do think Billie Eilish’s single is GREAT. I have a feeling we will see this one get a nomination for Best Song at the Academy Awards. Love this score and I am a huge fan of Hans and keep up the good work my man!
4 Stars for John Barry, David Arnold and Thomas Newman

This score was pretty good because it didn’t sound like HZ with all of his “BWAHHHs!!! and “bombastic balderdash.” This score was essentially a paint-by-numbers homage to the great John Barry’s awesome score to “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service" and established themes from Thomas Newman and David Arnold. I would have loved to have heard what Thomas Newman could have done to finish out his trilogy, or even what a fresh, and "less famous" composer like Joe Kraemer could have done with it; who’s Mission Impossible 5 score was the most original and arguably the best of the bunch. Hollywood and their “blockbuster composers”... but I digress.....
Zimmer's Gonna Zimmer

It's just about what you'd expect from theHanz Zimmer Soundtrack Factory. Some good themes, a lot of percussion and scary strings, and a little bit of the Monty Norman theme. Not different enough from the previous Thomas Newman scores to make a fair conmparison. Docked a couple stars due to the lack of recognistion of the great John Barry, who's cues for OHMSS are replicated note for note here on a couple tracks. Pretty obvious which ones. The theme by Billie Eilish? Not as bad as it could have been, and unlike Sam Smith, is actually able to include the title of the movie in her song.
superb!

It’s no time to die, because once you’re dead, you won’t be able to hear the music from the film…
The score as it appears in the movie itself is absolutely wonderful. It pays a long overdue, but highly appreciated, homage to John Barry who wrote the original James Bond scores and created the entire sound that is James Bond. The movie itself is fantastic the score goes very well with it, and enhances the mood without distracting in anyway shape or form.
I don’t know if the soundtrack album contains all the music of the film, and if it doesn’t, that would be a shame. But, as it appears in the film itself, I have to say that it ends up being a truly great score for a truly great motion picture.

I must admit I have not heard the whole thing. I just got the first track “Gun Barrel” because as far as I can tell it is the only recorded music available to the public of that gun barrel scene in the beginning of seemingly all the James Bond movies. Some the reviews by other reviewers have dicouraged me from listening to the whole album. I was hoping they would do a remix or remake or a reprise of the Billie Eilish song from the last movie, Part 1 of “No Time to Die.” But no such luck, just a repeat of that same great track. So I got one great tune to add to my James Bond playlist. That's about par for the course, works for me.
Worth the wait

I’m a HUGE HZ fan but this is lacking big time! Literally no real new theme here. Very disappointing …, will not be buying pre release of HZ after this.
