“I just want to be relevant” or “My desire is relevance” are alternatives that are ignored in favor of relating to a younger audience. And the unoriginal beat reminiscent of “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” is unnecessary and is more proof that this song is meant to make a profit from a young demographic. If relevance is what Kane desires when he’s a country pop star, I’m uninterested already. But to write a produce a song on the premise from a shallow perspective, too?.. If the plan was to create a delusion, then this song succeeds.
