Heard a catchy tune recently on a Netflix show... after searching I not only downloaded Love Like There’s No Tomorrow, I also downloaded EVERY SONG THEY’VE RELEASED! The War & Treaty remind me of a better time when music was not only beautiful but had a powerful and important message! I am blown away by their energy, fabulous vocals, and meaningful lyrics!!!

Everything about this album stirs the soul and begins to heal what is needed within the listener. The harmony, the passion, and the depth of these two singers goes beyond what is usually expected from a duo. As their music washes over you, like a wave entering a tidepool, you realize that his is one album worth spending your money on!

The mix genres and almost create a new one, but call it American music...

A few years ago, bands like Mumford and Sons and Ryan Adams got fans of alternative rock to start checking out alt-country, modern bluegress, folk, and Americana. Roots music that blends country, bluegrass, blues, soul, gospel, and rock. A lot of those bands were white guys who started in rock bands but got hungry for something different during these bad years in rock. This band does the opposite thing; they had a smooth R&B sound, and then they discovered roots music. Because of how they look, the War and Treaty will draw comparisons to gospels acts...and there IS a lot of church in their singing. But just as often, they are doing rock, bluegrass, or even stuff that could conceivably played on country radio. Through it all, they use real instruments and stripped-down arrangements. They dress like it's 1940, and they use few instruments that weren't around then. But they make it sound natural and modern and fresh. The songs have memorable hooks, the vibe is unfailingly positive and uplifting, and there's something for just about everyone. THe lyrics are secular; they're not gospel. Their back stories are compelling, too. They're a married couple. She was a minor actor in stuff like Sister Act 2 (where she shows off her voice), and he's an Iraq veteran who started in music by singing at funerals of fallen fellow servicemen/women. The American music scene is lucky to have something like this band. I think they'll win a folk or Americana Grammy.

In a world of hate and fabricated music, true art and love survives. Worth every penny. Beautiful!!!
