This album is amazing, the arrangements are fantastic, and Jaco blows your mind. Blackbird and River People are songs you can listen to over and over again. I'm always in awe of Jaco.

If you even remotely like jazz or just like amazing bass guitar, get this. Just listen to the preview of Kuru/Speak like child or of Blackbird/word of mouth, and you can hear how ridiculously talented Jaco is.

If u r a bass player like myself, then you know the technical issues we deal with. Jaco Pastorius takes every different aspect of jazz, funk, soul, r&b, etc. and creates his own majestic sound. Credit to this album doesn't just go 2 Jaco, but 2 the dear, musical friends who make it the BIG BAND. Check out: Beaver Patrol, Word of Mouth, Good Morning Anya, Las Olas, and virtually every other track on this amazing and marvellous record.

I bought this album for $2.00!!!!!!! Best two bucks I ever spent at a local cd store. I love the Weather Report covers and the Blackbird rendition. This album is great jazzy and classy with crazy wussah! in your face bass solos. Nice music.

This album is great! Not quite for people looking for the terrible sounds of Glen Miller, but for anybody else this is a must have!
