Growing up in the 80’s consuming all of these terrific sounds. Thundercat blends a variety of sounds perfectly, sounds that I had not heard since my early childhood. Coming from a family whose father was a 45yr veteran bass player and had played with many great musicians over the years. I can’t get over how similar the music on this album sounds to that of what I heard my father do in studio jam sessions with pro musicians.
A NO SKIP ALBUM

i came to the reviews to see other people appreciate this album, and to my surprise there’s only a few reviews. this album deserves so much and more. not only the album, but thundercat himself too. it’s definitely nothing like i’ve ever heard before, but that’s what makes this album so special. it always good to open your music taste and explore new sounds and even lyrics, instead of the same old generic pop music or radio hits. i wish everyone could see what i see in this album and just how brilliant it is.

Dude I love Thundercat. It took me a while to get into this album, as I’m a new fan and came in on the single “Black Qualls” off “It Is What It Is.” But as soon as I started listening to this album I knew I found something special. I love jazz and so his quirky jazz chord progressions and sense of humor are right in my alley. Highlights of this album are definitely “Captain Stupido,” “Uh Uh,” “Tokyo,” “Friend Zone,” “Jameel’s Space Ride,” and “Them Changes.” Please check out this album if you love jazz, funk, r&b, hip-hop, and/or electro music.
